What does adding spinach to a smoothie do?
Spinach is a powerful green veggie that we love adding to smoothies. Spinach is rich in zinc, B vitamins, vitamins A and C, fiber, folate, calcium, and other microelements. Spinach protects our bodies from free radicals, due to its high flavonoids concentration, and maintains a healthy brain functioning.
Are spinach smoothies good for weight loss?
How does it work: Spinach is packed with necessary nutrients for weight loss, such as protein and fiber. Meta Lab’s Spinach Extract Powder contains green leaf membranes called Thylakoids which decrease hedonic hunger which in turn can lead to weight loss. Hedonic hunger is another term for the cravings many people experience for unhealthy foods such as sweets or fast food, a common cause of obesity. Taking Thylakoids reinforces the body’s production of satiety hormones and suppresses hedonic hunger, which leads to better appetite control, healthier eating habits, and increased weight loss.

Benefits of Spinach Powder vs Fresh Spinach
Spinach Powder is rich in eye health protecting carotenoids
According to NCBI, National Center for Biotechnology Information, while fresh spinach is
packed with beta-carotene, carotenoids such as beta-carotene are not particularly sensitive to degradation during drying. This means that spinach powder also contains significant levels of this nutrient. Even though carotenoids properties are overall beneficial for our health, they are best known for their eye health protection. The Journal of the American Medical Association case-control study discovered that the participants in the highest quintile of carotenoid intake had a 43% lower risk for age-related macular degeneration compared with those in the lowest quintile (learn more). Moreover, participants who had spinach in their regular diet showed to have a low risk of developing serious eye conditions. Age-related macular degeneration, or AMD, is a leading cause of blindness in adults.
